as many of you will know, last month, we experimented with a thread where users could post their memes. Mods are a huge part of the lasting power of each of The Elder Scrolls titles, and as long as modders like those behind Skyblivion keep at it, these games will never die.Hi guys, as you can judge from the title, this is a post about the april memes thread.

While it would be great to see an officially remastered version of older Elder Scrolls games, Bethesda undoubtedly has their hands full with Fallout 4, and possibly the early development stages of Elder Scrolls VI.

Thankfully, where Bethesda doesn't go, modders are always ready to pick up the torch, and Skyblivion looks like it'll be an amazing experience once it's complete. Unfortunately, it turned out that Bethesda had no intention of actually creating a Cyrodiil expansion, and had only included the outline of the inaccessible city for the sake of geographical accuracy and immersion. Many gamers were thrilled when they learned that Cyrodiil is actually visible on the edge of Skyrim, hoping that they could revisit the world of Oblivion in a future expansion. NPCs, for example, are present and responsive, but haven't been programmed yet to wander around town on their own.

However, as the mod is still in development, it's not quite ready for gamers to replay all of Oblivion just yet.

The Imperial City has never looked better, and the improvement to lighting and shadows in comparison to the original game is quite noticeable. The developer behind Skyblivion has uploaded a new, lengthy video, seen above, which shows off over 40 minutes of gameplay and various towns, dungeons, and outdoor environments in Cyrodiil within the Skyrim engine. One other such project that's showing a lot of potential is Skyblivion, which will allow players to re-experience the wonder of Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Many modders have set out to update and improve the experience of older Elder Scrolls titles, like the ambitious Skywind project, which moved the assets of the Morrowind game to the Skyrim engine. Even so, mods can only change so much, and as the series continues and improvements are made to the visuals and overall gameplay, some can't help but wish that the games that made them fall in love with The Elder Scrolls series were updated. The Elder Scrolls games have remarkable staying power, with many fans of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion still exploring and modding their 13 and 9-year-old games, respectively, to this day.
